It’s something of a historic moment for Netflix. Stranger Things isn’t the first popular show to air a big series finale on the streaming giant, but it’s one of the biggest and certainly the longest-running Netflix series to make it all the way to the finish line.

Just days after viewers waved goodbye to the kids of Hawkins, Indiana, Netflix is taking us back again for a different look at the show.

Marshall also noted in the post that she told “Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer about her health battle and “asked them to please not write me out [of the show] due to kindness or concern about my health.” She called the Duffer brothers “such lovely people I’m thrilled to know and have worked under.”

Although Stranger Things might officially have ended with its season 5 finale, the spinoff Tales From ’85 will continue the story of the series by filling in some blanks in late 2026. For better or worse, Stranger Things is officially over. The Stranger Things finale was released on December 31, 2025, with the last episode earning mixed responses.
